Writing groups are led by Debby Suoja Ostlund, using the Amherst Writer's and Artist's group method™, along with the teachings of pioneers Natalie Goldberg, Julia Cameron, and others. At the heart of The Writer's Mosaic groups is trust ~ in ourselves, our intuition, our voice, our creativity. Its strength is grounded in providing a safe and nurturing space where we access what is unconscious, gently bringing it into the light of consciousness.
This is a dynamic and rewarding process that is an enhancement to all writing styles and practices, including journaling, poetry, memoir, and fiction. Tools of craft are explored as a natural outgrowth of the process. Beginning as well as seasoned writers are welcome, and participants find growth, both personally and in their creativity.
In keeping with the AWA method, groups share a nonhierarchical spirit, everything written and read is considered fiction, confidentiality is strictly adhered to, and all feedback is positive only.
